The original that Marion created was to celebrate the birth of a friend's child and had names and dates on it. She loved the sampler aspect of the design and wanted to write it as a pattern without personalization to share with us!
Not just a baby blanket, this dense knit is very wearable as a shawl, reminiscent of colorful Pendleton Blankets. This wrap is a combination of stitches and textures employing different types of mosaic. Starting with a very simple design and then developing into more complex forms; it plays with the textural aspects of mosaic and how much is garter and how much is stockinette. There is also stitch patterns and an applied lace edge thrown in at the end.
